The Oswald Bear Ranch is a safe haven for rescued bears and has become a world renowned tourist destination, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. Located in Newberry, Michigan, The Bear Ranch offers visitors the opportunity to experience Black Bears up close.
When approached with the opportunity to design the website and book, the objective was to better define their existing identity. Tara created a web design that would communicate the Oswald's commitment to the bears living in vast, wild habitats much like the ones they would roam in the wild. She focused on an adventurous and wild looking web presence while keeping it simple to navigate. The new site will go live at the end of the year.
Brand guidelines were created such as main colors, a typeface, and how the logo should be displayed.
Shortly after Finishing the web design, Tara designed and wrote a the book, "For the Love of Bears" inspired by a previous piece written by the late Suellen May. Both the book and the website feature images Tara captured for the Bear Ranch in years previous.
A billboard was also designed to ensure visitors wouldn’t miss the turn onto County road 407, which happens frequently.
